Scope by activity, not room count
Door hardware, desks and washroom fixtures can be mapped as touch points. Toys, soft play and learning devices need individual consideration. A method for a desk may be inappropriate for a mouthed toy or porous play item.
The responsible lead should identify available areas, protected materials and instructions governing products or equipment. A broad “child-safe” claim cannot replace those checks.
Preparation for the site lead
- Arrange unoccupied access and contractor registration.
- Remove food, belongings and items outside the scope.
- Identify toys, electronics and sensitive learning materials.
- Confirm pre-cleaning responsibilities.
- Obtain return, rinsing and ventilation instructions.
Make the plan specific to your property.
Share the surfaces, access and circumstances so the right scope can be discussed.
Discuss schools & nurseriesPractical reopening instructions
Give the handover to the people opening the building and preparing rooms. They need to know whether treated items can be used, whether rinsing is needed and which areas remain excluded.
Disinfection does not replace day-to-day cleaning or establish freedom from infection risk. Frequency should reflect use, procedures and circumstances, not a fixed marketing package.
Documentation before the visit
Specify product information, method statements, access paperwork and treatment records when requesting a quote. Capability and available documentation must be confirmed before a booking is accepted.
